Easy answers to hard questions like:
- How do I grow my business in these tough times?
- How do I achieve proper work/life balance?
- How can I sell better?
- How do I hire and build a dream team?
- How do I get my life back now I've got a business?
- How do I exit well?
...tempt us into thinking there's a quick fix or a magic silver bullet. There is not.
Yes, there are best practice principles, habits that make it much easier and more likely you'll succeed, and business building has some science to it. Bottom line though, is you'll do best with help (proven) along the way, but that help needs to come from someone who's built their own success.
In my experience, your litmus test for someone who is going to give you business, financial, marketing, personal, health advice is not just do they have clients who can testify to great results. No, it's to make sure they evidence great results themselves and have actually practiced what they preach.
Knowing how to build a business in theory (even if that's certificated and accredited), is not the same as having actually built a successful business in practice. Knowing how to sell isn't the same as demonstrating great sales ability that works. Knowing about work/life balance is not the same as evidencing it for all to see.
Don't settle for cheap talk. You and your business deserve the best.
